Amazing, glorious day.
I did laundry..and even put it away. I swept the front porch and walkway. I cleaned the clutter that had collected on my kitchen table. In the process of getting my coats and sweaters out of storage, I found the shorts that I thought I had, just didn’t know where I had them. Now I do. In the place of the winter wear, I stored most of the tank tops I have purchased over the past two years. I even managed to clean out all of the left overs that were lurking in the fridge. All the while stopping ever so often to pet cats or dogs. Which ever was closest at the moment. I do have an attention deficit way of cleaning. Start one thing, get distracted, start another..the difference was that today I actually managed to get things done.
I did make a mistake in adding wood to the fire in the wood stove early on. I thought I was going to melt before the fire started dying down. I did open doors and windows to prevent the melt down. I also spent time outside enjoying a beautiful day.
When my son came in from work I got him to help me check out the mower that dad has said I could use since mine is out of commission at least temporarily. Oil is good, gas tank filled, look out leaves, I’m coming for you..maybe. It depends on if I get other stuff I need to do accomplished.
What I can do, as I sit here now both dogs nearby, I can enjoy the quiet, cool of the night. Today has been warm, even as the leaves continue to fall like snow from the trees. The cats outside lounging on the steps or the swing out back, enjoying the sunlight. Today was a gift, a respite from the cool days. Today was one of those days that reminds us that things aren’t always as we expect. December should be cold, but today wasn’t. I saw earlier that Denver, Colorado is still waiting on their first snow. I am reminded that just because something is expected or normal for this time of year, that doesn’t mean that is what we’ll get. Life has a way of mixing things up for us. The best thing we can do, is take the changes and deal with them as necessary. Hopefully, as in today’s case, we can find ways to enjoy the unexpected.

Those pictures are beautiful!
Thank you so much!
