He Will Move

I’m sure that many people have seen at least part of what is going on around us. Call it revival, renewal, awakening, restoration, call it anything you wish, but God is moving. God is moving, and people are responding. Asbury, Texas A&M, Indiana Wesleyan, LSU and more. I’ve seen videos of worship happening in New York City. It isn’t just in the USA but in Uganda people are responding.

One video I watched made a great point. People are traveling great distances to get to Asbury. They want to be where God is moving. They want to be a part of what is going on, where it is happening. The video though said, you don’t have to travel God can and will work where you are. God will work in your church, in your neighborhood, in your home, in your heart. He’s knocking and He’s waiting. All you have to do, is let Him in. One thing I read, was Asbury began with an unexpected, shared testimony. A door was opened, hearts were opened. Worship broke forth from that.

Then, it began to spread from Asbury outward. People began to open their heart to what was happening. They saw God working there, and they wanted that. They wanted God to move in them, and they began to worship joyfully when He did just that.

Here is a thing though, God is not limited in any way. When your heart is open and receptive, He moves. As I sat here yesterday watching videos of what is going on, I could feel the Spirit. I felt the chills as if hearing, “I’m doing that, I’m not finished. Hang on and watch this.”

For those who have seen the videos coming from Asbury, you have seen what is happening. For those who have not, its worship, simple, heart felt, worship. No big production. No asking for donations. No large choirs. The crowds fill the building and flow outward onto the grounds. Jesus stood on hillsides and taught those who would listen. Simple. These folks are sharing testimonies, they are signing, they are worshiping openly. There is no intention to or concern over offending anyone, because Jesus. Because God.  This is worship, this is love.

And it could and would happen where you are.  It will happen when you invite Him in. Whether it takes one testimony, whether it takes just the right hymn or message. When that door is opened and the spark lit, God will show up and He will work. Where you are. Whether you are in a crowd, at church, in a gathering, at home watching videos. He will move.
