I’m sitting here watching a spider. A fly managed to get itself caught in the spider’s web. It was making a lot of noise as it struggled to escape. The spider ever so slowly approached the struggling fly. It then began just as slowly and methodically wrap the fly in web. Still alive the fly struggled valiantly, desperately, as it was slowly cocooned in web. The fly has ceased struggling now, as the spider drags its latest victim away to where ever it stores those caught. This has me wondering. This has me considering, are we like that fly only in human form? Has society become nothing more than a web, stretched out and waiting our capture to then be devoured by those human spiders, the ones who created that web of deception, of control of division? So I wonder..
When?
When can we stop being us against them?
When?
Will we decide that the gap between us has become too wide and that we need to build a bridge? Not a wall. Not a no fly zone or other area of do not cross. Not a moat filled with anything to prevent crossing.
When?
Will we see that division does not accomplish anything good? It is nothing more than a constant, bickering, destructive force that destroys rather than builds. It hurts rather than heals. It prevents rather than accomplishes.
Yesterday was an election day here in the United States. For weeks building up to this day there has been a deluge of post cards, text messages, emails, commercials from the candidates of the various positions upon which to be voted. Each and nearly every one was this candidate attacking the other. It was somewhat like watching that children’s toy, battle bots going at each other. Words and accusations flying. This one did this and this and that. The other did that and that and this. Attacks on records, attacks on actions, attacks for the sheer purpose of attacks on character. I do not recall a single ad or message or word, saying what they wished to accomplish if elected.
I have no idea what any one of them hoped to do, because they were so busy destroying anyone who may even cast a glance in their way up the political ladder.
I have a decent amount of individuals on my social media page. While most were intellectual and mature in their comments on the election and what would happen going forward afterwards, there were those, who were not. The anger, the attacks, the fears, were all there. The words seeking to further divide by creating a nightmare scenario of things that might, could, would happen if the other guys won. And that was from both sides, not just one.
My focus here, my intent here, is not to talk politics. It is to talk of the division that was created long ago and continues to spread ever larger. I’ve seen on my social media page, when I glance through the memories, comments made about the division years ago. When people were not happy about the results of elections. I have seen where people were divided on actions of the police and rioters destroyed so much. I’ve seen so many instances where what could have been easily handled and corrected blown completely and deliberately out of proportion to the point of nearly impossible to correct. Because there are those who intentionally create the division for their own purposes.Β A house divided against itself can not stand. A people divided, is easily controlled.
When, will we see that we are being played, by those in any position of power? When will we stand up and work to rebuild what has been destroyed? When, will we open our eyes, and see the damage? When, will we open our ears to hear and stop being controlled by the lies and created fears dished out to us? When will we cease being subservient and lift up with the strength we have but have set aside?
If, we were to see each other as equal, as worthy, as brothers and sisters in life, we could make life better. If we decided to stop the downfall, and decide to begin building-together. We can not only be but make a difference. We could make this life as it should be, if we decide to work together. Race should not matter. Nationality should not matter. Gender should not matter. Social status, financial status, educational status, should not matter. I see life and all of its components as a puzzle, all the pieces are scattered about. Apart, it is a lot of designs and colors, shapes and lines. Bring all of that together, and you have a beautiful picture. We are like that, each our own shape and color. Apart we are scattered pieces. Bring us together and we are beautiful. We need to come together. We need to be strong and beautiful. We need to show we can see through the deception and destruction, the smoke and mirrors no longer working. We need to, we can if we will.
If not now, at a time so desperately needed, when?

What a perfect shot…ππ»ππ»ππ»

Some very deep questions asked here.
If only we could work on the answers in a way that builds.
