February Twenty-fourth; Fear Not

What, are we facing?

We all know what is going on between Russia and the Ukraine. We are seeing the reports, the photos and videos that are coming from there. We have heard the threats being made from Russia’s President Vladimir Putin. Even as we pray for, worry for, and discuss what is happening, we wonder. Is this, a step toward another world war? Is this the first steps toward the final end of time war? What are we facing? What ever it may be, we need not be afraid. Everything has been foretold. We have been warned of what is to come. No, I am in no way attempting to predict the day and time of Jesus the Christ’s return. Only God knows when that time will be. What I am sharing, is the reminder of the warnings of what is to come, before Jesus returns.

When the disciples questioned Him, Jesus told them this: https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Matthew-Chapter-24/

The things that will be faced and endured before His return. Including wars and rumors of wars, though that is but birthing pains. Many, or maybe most, of the things foretold, have happened or are happening. I say this not to frighten, not to predict, but to remind that we need to be ready. We need to have our life in order, our salvation secured while we still breathe.

There are many verses telling of the signs of the end of time: https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Bible-Verses-About-Signs-Of-The-End-Times/ At the bottom of this page, there are links for more information.

Obviously for decades wars have gone on around us. War, is nothing new, the Old Testament has many recounts of wars among nations. For the regular non-historian, it seems as if wars have been more frequent, more destructive, more horrific. Life altering in the very least for the innocent caught in the conflict. Now, we are watching as Ukraine finds itself under attack.

Covid-19 could be seen as and has been referred to as a plague. A great many people world wide died and others remain ill with long term effects, while the virus still has not been fully eradicated.

Humankind are divided and fight amongst each other. Any difference no matter how slight fuel and reason enough to hate and condemn.

There are areas here in the United States and elsewhere under extreme drought conditions. There are areas buried in snow. The weather going from one extreme to another. I have seen reports of earthquakes in areas not known to suffer the trembling.

None are saying Christ’s return is immediate or even soon, only to say He is coming, be ready. Jesus the Christ’s return, will be as He said, as a thief in the night. We will see the signs, but we will not know the exact time and day. It could be many years, or mere seconds from now. It is not only important, but essential that we be ready. That we seek Jesus as Savior and Lord. That we surrender to Him, trusting, believing, following Him. Accepting His forgiveness and merciful grace that our name be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Then, there need be no fear for what ever may come in this life, for this life is but our journey home. It is not meant to be easy. We will face tribulation along the way. But the journey is one we must walk, as we make our way, but the peace is in knowing we do not walk alone. In that knowledge is where we find the ability to fear not, to be not afraid, as He is with us, even until the end of the age https://www.christianity.com/wiki/bible/why-christians-should-be-encouraged-that-jesus-will-be-with-you-always.html

In the mist and fog, we cannot see clearly what we know is there. As life seemingly goes crazy around us, we may not see God’s presence, but in faith, we know He is here.
