Day Thirty-six; Footnotes; Considering Ways to Healthier Lifestyles

I can not stop this cough. My son stands there and tells me to stop coughing, He also tells me to stop being cold. Sorry son, there isn’t an on off switch installed anywhere.

The runny nose is easing but the cough. That deep from the bottom of the chest, dragon screaming cough that refuses to go away is going to stop me from going to church tomorrow.  I simply can’t sit in the service and start coughing, sounding more like I’m barking like one of my dogs. I know its allergy related. A runny nose and cough, that’s it. Started when I got into dust stacking wood. Others may not understand. Others are still concerned and afraid, I’ll not make their fears worse.

Many of the members of our church are older. Many are very young. Many have health issues that put them at risk. This causes many to be afraid. This causes many to remain hidden at home, social distancing from life. They each and all have their reasons. Each and all battle their own fears and demons. Each and all standing strong in the ways they feel they must. So, unless I awaken cough free, I will once again watch the online message.

In the mean time, I have stayed inside for the most part. I have sipped herbal teas and eaten a helping of turkey breast. I’ve taken allergy medicine and multiple supplements and vitamins, and rested. Letting my body heal. Soon, I’ll call it an early night to allow my body to rest through sleep.

There are many ways to stay healthier. Taking care in the food and drink that we consume. If we must deviate, then do so in moderation. Adding the proper vitamins, minerals, and supplements to our diet. Striving to build up our system to be its best. Making sure that we move enough, exercise enough to keep our body strong. Getting enough sunlight and vitamin D.

Read a variety of genres. Fiction, nonfiction, poetry and prose. Read to learn, read to relax, read to keep your mind busy and learning. Listen to a variety of music. Learn to enjoy even what at one time you would immediately turn off. Learn, to allow the music to calm your mind and spirit. Use music to worship.

Find peace and comfort in faith. Spend time in reading books of faith, such as the Bible or other books that are Bible based and will teach and add to understanding. Spend time in prayer. Not only praying, but listening.

Spend time in nature. Hiking alone or with friends. Gardening, whether flowers of vegetable.Dig in the dirt and create a food source for human and nature.

Find time for hobbies. Ways to create and expand your mind and visions. Things that will grow your talents and abilities.

Know, that there are many ways to be healthy, and it takes a variety of methods to reach a healthier lifestyle. Know, that it is important to seek and find the ways that work best for you.
