What an afternoon.
The dogs have spent the day barking at the cats who for some reason kept coming around to the front of the house. Try as I might, I couldn’t stop the barking by any way other than bringing the dogs inside. At one point they got upset with each other and were about to get into a..disagreement..inside the house. Thankfully my son was in the room and together we kept that from happening and got them separated until they calmed down.
Today, is my brother’s birthday. I had one photo of when he was in high school that I had found tucked away in the piano bench. I sent a copy to him via social messaging. His response was an all capital WOW. That had me off on a scavenger hunt through old photo albums. Since I have yet to learn this printer I simply took photos of the photos with my phone. I’ve sent him several of those privately. He has yet to respond.
I found quite a few forgotten photos and wonderful memories. I really need to learn the process of this printer so I can scan more of those photos into the computer and get a better quality copy. It is always so much fun seeing the old photos. My son is named after my grandfather and I showed him a photo of his great grandfather. He told me that he looked serious. Well, yeah, but not brutally so. My son has to remember that his great grandfather’s time was very different than the time he has known. I’ll dig the other albums back out and find the photos that are of better quality, at least one showing him not quite so serious.

It was fun seeing the photos of a much younger mom and dad. Back when they could do anything and would be forever young.
I’m glad that I have the photos, that the reminders of family and friends and adventures are there to enjoy when one decides to take that stroll down memory lane. They are also great to blackmail brothers. I share all of my photos good bad and weird, to the world so that no one can have anything to threaten me with. I do have some baby photos of my son that will be kept buried and hidden away until he manages to run across them at some point in the future. Cute baby photos that parents love but embarrass the grown child.
For now, the world is growing quiet and the temperature falling. Its another many blanket night. But it has been an amazing day.
