When I say I’m going to get out more, I mean it.
Its been weeks since Bella and I have been to hike the mountain. I called Molly inside and closed the door. By the time I walked the few steps to the front door Bella was waiting. I opened the door, she stepped inside and looked at her leash then back at me. She, was ready to go hiking.
It didn’t take us long to get to the park and out to hike. I was happy to see that there really wasn’t that many cars in the parking area hopefully meaning also not that many folks hiking. As we made out way up the mountain it was obvious I hadn’t been lately as I kept having to stop and catch my breath or allow the deep ache in my legs to ease. Once we made it all the way to the top the view as always was so amazing. On the way up I spoke with a couple people I passed and as we made our way down I spoke with those headed up. One gentleman even asked me a questions. “Does it get any more hilly on the way up?” I didn’t say it, I thought it, but I did not say,”You’re on a mountain so..” What I did say was, “Yes, but not as bad as if you’d taken the step trail.”
It was an amazingly, glorious day to hike. The day was beautiful and clear, the temperatures nice. I was actually wearing shorts and a tank top. That ought to say something, the other something was that it was at last check 73 degrees Fahrenheit. Not bad for December second.
Once I got home, I walked down to help my dad cut up some kindling. I had to carry the ban-saw out of his storage building, get it plugged in and work on getting the wood cut safely. I then had to call my nephew to come over and help get the saw back into the building because you have to lift it up and I just didn’t want to try.
After my son came in from work, we headed out for Christmas Town. We..were going to walk through town. I will admit that I was wearing a pull over hoodie and a zip up hoodie over that. I will admit to being a little warm but I definitely wasn’t cold. We’ve driven through to see the lights many times in the past, but never walked. Tonight, walking through with my son, seeing the lights at our own pace was so nice. We walked down streets that many of the cars didn’t go. Not knowing the houses were lit on those roads, not wanting to risk getting out of line? Who knows, but they missed out on some amazing houses.
Once we finally got back to the car we headed for the big box store so that my son could purchase a couple toys for the motorcycle run Saturday. That done, us home and the dogs fed, the day is catching up with me. According to my fitness band I walked 19561 steps or 8.83 miles burning 673 calories. I’ll take it, I sure feel every step.
Tomorrow is supposed to be another good day, I wonder what adventures await..

Sounds like a wonderful day!
It really was. Hiking up the mountain was amazing, but walking through town with the lights on, was special.
