October Second; In Just a Few Hours

THE day has arrived.

It is the day of the Just Jeepin for a Cause Show and Shine. A Jeep show of epic proportions.  How many Jeeps? That is yet to be seen. How much fun to be had, oh baby, that is immeasurable.

This event has been in the planning stages for months. A day and time had to be settled on. A location secured. Everyone informed and sent out to gather donations of anything and everything. Vendors of all types were signed on. The time went from months away, to days away and now, finally, hours away. The work though, the preparations are not done yet. There is the set up involved. All of the donations that have been pouring in need to be hauled to the location and set up. Volunteers need to be mobilized.

A few hours from now, all the work that has been going into this event, will be put to the test. A few hours from now, the results will become apparent. There will be Jeeps of all sort parked and ready for showing off and out.

But the real heroes of this event, are the many who have done so much. The ones who have gone out and sought the donations. The ones who have spoke and spoke and spoke of the event getting the word out of its happening. The ones who will be there in a few hours, manning the tents, parking the cars, directing those who are searching for something, those who will be there to clean up afterwards. The hands, the feet, the hearts of those who believe in the cause and want to see this a success beyond belief.  Those who understand, this event, is the main event of the year.

This benefit show, is the main fundraiser of the year for the Love Like Lauren Foundation. The purpose, battling childhood cancer. Helping those who are battling and their family. To bring attention to the fight. Our children are our treasure and our future. They should be growing up as children do, each stage a normal childhood moment. They should not be fighting a disease such as this. Their day to day should be the things one always thinks of in childhood, games, toys, sleep overs, not hospitals, medicines and doctors.

In a few hours, the stage will be set, the Jeeps aligned. The tents will be up, the blood drive bus waiting, the sponsors prepared. In a few hours, the gates will open and the show will begin. The excitement that has been building up to this point reaching a boiling point, like children at Christmas, we are excited and ready for the moment. One that will begin, in just a few hours.
