Blogophilia; By The Water

I sit by the water

pondering, contemplating

The meaning of life

of the days we have

the moments we live

I watch the ripples

as they roll, a smooth disturbance

ever widening

ever expanding

Do they hold the secret

within their circles?

Do they carry it away

the meaning I seek

I sit by the water

listening to the music

nature’s surround sound

singing in four part harmony

From water’s edge

to the boughs of the tree

I listen and I wait

for interpretation of the song

is life’s meaning hidden

somewhere within?

I sit by the water

thoughts turned inward

listening to the words of my soul

hearing the beating of my heart

wondering of this hidden

meaning of life

feeling the air within my lungs

with every inhale

every exhale

a slight understanding comes

a trust in the silence

of secrets shared

when you say nothing at all.

My happy place of peace, where the meaning of life, is contentment.
