Your Shift is done, Hear the Angels Sing

Those wheels will turn no more
that engine quiet and still
For your name was called
and you’ve gone home
Where you stroll those streets of gold
There are no more pressures
no more concerns
While you listen to the angels sing
Many friends were there to greet you
Family gathered around you
happily welcoming you home.
Those wheels will turn no more
that engine quiet and still
No more worries over hours and miles
of weight or shifting loads.
Concern no more over places,
or other drivers, careless or rude
no trying to find places
just to get some rest
to deliver or pick up that load.
Worry, oh worry, no more
as you stroll those streets of gold
hearing the angels sing
Those wheels will turn no more
that engine quiet and still
your shift is finished
your drive is done
all paperwork is filed
no more worries
no more concerns
but I wonder in my heart
the mansion that the Lord made ready
one of the rooms prepared just for you,
Does your mansion have a back porch
with a rocker waiting there
a place to sit and rest
weary of life no more
Does your mansion have a back porch
where you can sit, coffee in hand
Jesus there beside you
teaching, one on one
as you sit there with the Savior
hearing the angels sing.
